Glenmorangie Signet Ristretto Is Released At Incheon Airport

The spiralling coffee and chocolate flavours of Glenmorangie Signet have long been a favourite of whisky lovers old and new. Now Glenmorangie is deliciously reinterpreting that whisky’s bitter-sweet taste in the audaciously rich Glenmorangie Signet Ristretto. With deep undercurrents of coffee and waves of extra dark chocolate, it is to the original Signet as ristretto espresso is to coffee – even more full-bodied and intense. Limited to 1,500 bottles, Glenmorangie Signet Ristretto will be released exclusively at the Glenmorangie Signet boutique in South Korea’s Incheon Airport.

Glenmorangie’s whisky creators have been dreaming up delicious single malts in the Highlands for more than 175 years. They produce their fruity, delicate spirit in towering copper stills (the same height as a giraffe, they allow more space for taste and aroma). Then they age it in the world’s finest casks. Glenmorangie Signet Ristretto came to life when Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Director of Whisky Creation, was inspired to double down on the melting mocha flavours of his award-winning Signet (a whisky which recalls the simple pleasure of a cup of coffee) for more delicious intensity.

To create Glenmorangie Signet Ristretto, Dr Bill began with a tiny batch of his precious chocolate malt spirit. Made just once a year at the Distillery, its espresso-like scents fill the air with aromas more familiar in an Italian coffee bar. For his original Signet, Dr Bill marries together a host of different casks. But for Glenmorangie Signet Ristretto, he chose only spirit made with chocolate malt, aged in a handful of virgin toasted oak casks. This way, he brought rich simmering coffee notes, spice and hints of leather to an extraordinary limited release, of which just 1,500 bottles exist.

Glenmorangie Signet Ristretto will be available exclusively in the Signet Incheon Boutique in South Korea’s Incheon Airport, which opened in 2019. With hands-on experiences and indulgent tastings, the boutique invites more travellers to discover the mocha delights of Glenmorangie Signet and, now, Signet Ristretto.
