A Birds Eye View
Guests arrive at the resort after a mere 30-minute transfer from Phuket Airport, and are met with a cold towel, warm welcome and a refreshing welcome beverage. The Pavilions is in Cherngtalay, on the island’s west coast which is close to Phuket’s nightlife and dining scene yet in a peaceful and private setting high in the hills. And while the terrain may be hilly (allowing for such incredible views), the staff whisk guests around the resort in golf buggies and the hotel’s shuttle is a convenient way to take a trip to the beach – with a ready-packed picnic if desired.
Garden and Tropical Suites and Spa Villas
Garden and Tropical View Suites each have a master bedroom, lounge area and two bathrooms. For extra indulgence, book a villa spanning 275 square metres. Guests have their own pool, steam room, sala and sundeck. Those staying in Pavilions and Penthouses can also enjoy in-villa treatments individually, or as a couple, in the privacy of your spa room. You might like to begin the day with a floating breakfast and end it with a tasting menu, a BBQ, where your private chef will fire up the grill on your terrace, preparing and cooking the finest selection of seafood or tantalising cuts of meat to perfection or head our and experience one of the many culinary options onsite.
Ocean View Pool Villa
During our stay, we were hosted in one of the Pavilions Ocean View Pool Villas. These ultra-private villas boast breathtaking panoramic vistas of Layan Beach and the shimmering Andaman Sea. Featuring a secluded infinity pool and an outdoor sala, a huge lounge and bathroom, and one bedroom they are the perfect option for couples seeking a luxurious and refined retreat

360° Bar and Restaurants
The jewel in The Pavilions’ crown is arguably its 360° Bar, offering sublime sunset views over the Andaman Sea and serving drinks every weekend from 5 pm to 10 pm. Firefly is its poolside eatery and drinkery, with a wood-fired grill and open show kitchen (guests can be served at a table or from the comfort of a plush-padded sunbed). Firefly also lays on a programme of entertainment.

ALTO
The hotel is affiliated with Alto, an award-winning Italian restaurant. Its outpost here in Thailand is a sophisticated affair, serving traditional Italian recipes by Chef Pietro Mangani. In the afternoon, a high tea offers French patisseries with traditional Thai desserts and premium tea by Voyage Thailand. Planning a romantic evening to remember? The staff will arrange a bohemian teepee dinner under the stars, with a private chef on hand.
The Pavilions Spa
Nestled within tropical gardens is the spa. This comprises a 30-metre lap pool, a state-of-the-art gym, a yoga pavilion and air-conditioned treatment rooms with private tubs for bath-based rituals. Try one of the resort’s signature spa therapies, like the Island Paradise, which includes an invigorating coffee scrub, followed by Hawaiian-style Lomi Lomi massage, or some signature Trigger Point Therapy, as well as both Western and Thai-inspired treatments. Many of the therapies use Moringa-based products, an ingredient indigenous to the foothills of the Himalayas, that was commonly used in both Ancient Egyptian and Indian Ayurvedic medicine.
Layan Beach
The hotel offers a shuttle bus that operates throughout the day and evening to and from the hotel and Layan Beach and along to the Lagoon Shops, It is worth a trip down as the beach is peppered with beachside bars and restaurants so you can make an afternoon of it on the beach.
