Location
London hotels don’t really get much more central than this, positioned at the top of Park Lane and Oxford Street, with Marble Arch underground station directly across the road. Turn left as you exit the hotel lobby and you are in the heart of Mayfair and a further ten-minute walk to Bond Street. The West End of Oxford Street is directly behind you offering every shopping brand imaginable. Spend an afternoon exploring Selfridges or enjoy a walk around Hyde Park, which is a few minutes away from the hotel too.
Style & Character
Situated in a grand 19th-century grade II listed building, the property’s public areas are adorned with contemporary wall art and interiors finished in soft neutral tones of white, lavender and grey as well as touches of leather, wood, silk and marble.
Rooms & Suites
Room and Suites are beautifully appointed in a palette of whites, creams and lilacs and finished in gold and silver accents. The 152 rooms and suites are broken into four room categories deluxe, superior and executive, and three types of suites – executive, family and premier. Rooms are a good size (especially for central London) and the crème de la crème of each guest room and suite are their marble-finished bathrooms, complete with Japanese heated toilets and Penhaligon’s amenities.
Guests are also treated to a Nespresso machine and complimentary water. A nightly turn-down service is available in all room categories and their cotton linens and down feather duvets and efficient double glazing guarantee a good night’s sleep.

Executive Rooms
Suites
The three suite types offer the ultimate in luxury during your stay. Executive Suites and Family Suites are 40sqmt in size, include a separate living room and bedroom, large flat-screen TV and free high-speed Wi-Fi access.
Their Premier Suites are 57sqm in size and overlook Hyde Park. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the room with lights and the suite’s interiors and furnishings give the feeling of a luxury apartment rather than hotel room making it far more personable.
All suites include access to the Executive Lounge which provides complimentary food and drinks throughout the day and evening.
Mayfair Suite
I stayed in the Mayfair Suite which is one of their Premier Suites on the fifth floor of the hotel.
Welcome
A beautiful welcome gift was waiting on arrival showcasing the kitchens pastry and dessert talents.
Bedroom
The bedroom faced out to Marble Arch and as mentioned the soundproofing in the room was fantastic so you don’t hear any outside noise. There is a very generous-sized built-in wardrobe with plenty of space for two people’s luggage. A TV and luggage stand are also featured in the bedroom.
Lounge
I loved the lounge with a separate dining table, sofa and chaise lounge, as mentioned the interior design is homely and not sterile, I loved coming back after dinner, drawing the curtains and cosying to drink a nightcap before bed.
Bathroom
This is a bathroom I guarantee you won’t want to leave! The Japanese toilet has plenty of buttons to press and a heated seat and their separate bath and shower and Penhaligon amenities add to the luxury experience.
View
This is the view from the lounge and bedroom.
Executive Lounge Access
Suites provide access to the Executive Lounge – during our stay due to covid this was being served in Lanes of London and complimentary drinks are refreshments are served throughout the day and evening.
Food & Drink
Lanes of London
Set against the unrivaled backdrops of Hyde Park and Marble Arch, Lanes of London serves British-inspired food using the finest seasonal and local produce. The restaurant and bar offer a refined and welcoming environment serving, breakfast, Afternoon Tea and all-day dining options.
Botanical Afternoon Tea
Given the proximity to the lush and green Hyde Park, it seemed only fitting for the London Marriott Hotel Park Lane to present its guests with a Botanical Afternoon Tea. Inspired by traditional British gardens and seasonal ingredients both hotel residents and visitors can enjoy a delicious selection of sandwiches, signature cakes and Jing floral teas, presented with dried petals and herbal essences or for something a little more special a chilled Rosé Champagne cocktail is a perfect choice.
You can read more about this afternoon tea in our guide.
Breakfast
Start the day with a lovely breakfast! Go healthy with options like Avocado on Toast or a Halloumi Hash. Or indulge yourself with the Eggs Benedict or Asparagus, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce, or go all out and enjoy the Full English breakfast. Compliment it with fruit juices or opt for a bloody mary or bucks fizz!
Spa and Fitness
In Mayfair space is at a premium so most hotels don’t include a swimming pool. However, The Marriott Park Lane, is an exception. Hidden away in the basement of the hotel is The Club at Park Lane. Enjoy the 12.5-meter subterranean pool surrounded by marble pillars, sun loungers and steam room or book a massage or spa treatment to help you truly unwind after spending a day exploring central London. The Club also includes a state-of-the-art fitness suite which is open 24 hours a day, while the pool is open from 6am to 11pm daily.
Final Thoughts
If you are looking for a home from home in central London, the Marriott Park Lane ticks all the boxes. I loved how discreet the hotel is – you could almost miss it walking past. The team is wonderful, and the interior decor is divine – you will want to take it home with you. Lanes of London offers a great dining experience any time of the day and their suite category of rooms elevates the luxury experience to another level. We loved our stay at this property and we know you will too.
