Today: Aman introduces new wellness programs by Novak Djokovic

In 2024, Aman – the most exclusive hotel brand in the world – welcomed tennis legend, Novak Djokovic, as its first Global Wellness Advisor. Entering a multi-year partnership, Djokovic brings a wealth of expertise, both on and off the court, to the Aman guest experience, enhancing the brand’s ever-evolving approach to health, fitness and wellbeing.

Aligning with Aman’s wellness philosophy and the notion of longevity that rests at its heart, Djokovic’s resilience and adaptability have allowed him to stay at the pinnacle of the sport for over a decade. With 24 Grand Slam titles, Djokovic’s pursuit of excellence sets him apart as a true icon. Yet his trajectory extends far beyond tennis success with a commitment and dedication that has inspired countless athletes.

For the first time, Aman’s three decades of wellness expertise and Novak Djokovic’s life-long commitment to wellbeing unite in “Longevity Pathways“, a one-of-a-kind Aman wellness program designed to help individuals live better and for longer. Longevity Pathways commence with a Detoxification Program curated by Novak Djokovic at a collection of Aman destinations worldwide. Evolved over three decades, longevity sits at the heart of Aman’s wellness philosophy and explores dimensions of health, beyond just the physical, to incorporate spiritual and mental wellbeing. Aman promotes a balanced integration of three tenets – spiritual illumination, mental equilibrium and physical optimisation – not only to attain a heightened state of wellbeing but in order to provide a fully holistic approach.

Taking place over three days, each itinerary of Djokovic’s Detoxification Program is tailored to the unique setting of an Aman Resort. For example, while guests at Amangiri (USA) enjoy sunrise Yoga on the Rocks, overlooking the sculpted mesas of the Utah desert, at Amanbagh (India), the ancient art of Pinda Siveda (a traditional Ayurvedic treatment using herbal boluses) offers a therapeutic embrace rooted in Rajasthan’s heritage. On day one of the program, a signature Aman treatment if offered (90-150 minutes), followed by a destination-led therapy on day two and a body-mind-spirit balancing activity (60-minutes) on day three.

For example, this is the Detoxification Program at Amangiri, USA:

  • Day one:
    • Utah Salt & Clay Body Wrap (local signature treatment). Using Utah ancient sea salt and bentonite desert clay rich in trace minerals, this exfoliation and wrap will cleanse and activate your skin’s natural self-renewal processes for the days ahead. Choose between turquoise sage mountain arnica and prickly pear pomegranate lotions for the hydrating finishing touch.
  • Day two:
    • Cryo & Thermal Therapy (physical optimisation). Guided use of the Spa’s Water Pavilion, including cold plunge pool, sauna and steam room. A powerful wellness experience, contrast thermal therapy is believed to help with muscle recovery.
    • Myofascial Release (physical optimisation). Focused on the chains of connective tissue, or fascia, throughout the body, your instructor will guide you through the use of equipment to repattern these connections for greater ease of movement and postural support.
    • ASMR (mental equilibrium). This experience clears the mind, engages the senses and has a calming after-effect. During the session, wellness-oriented guided audio, as well as kinesthetic and visual stimuli, focus attention and produce autonomous sensory meridian responses (ASMR).
    • Yoga on the Rocks (spiritual illumination). Hike onto the Amangiri mesas to practice yoga at sunrise, sunset or any time between. Breathe and stretch toward the horizon in this inspiring wellness adventure that reconnects the spirit with the natural world around.
  • Day Three
    • Sound Bowl Therapy (mental equilibrium). Waves of sound wash over you in this session of deep listening to vibrational singing bowls to promote relaxation, wellbeing and a euphoric sense of expansion.

Later this year, an intimate in-person retreat will be hosted by Djokovic himself at one of Aman’s flagship properties, details of which will be announced in due course. But Djokovic’s Detoxification Program is already available at seven Aman sanctuaries:

  1. Amanpuri, Thailand
  2. Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, Thailand
  3. Amanbagh, India
  4. Aman Tokyo, Japan
  5. Aman New York, USA
  6. Amangiri, USA
  7. Amanyara, Turks & Caicos

Details and reservations details for Djokovic’s Detoxification Program can be found on the official Aman website, Aman.com. Below you can find more details about the Aman properties that currently offer the wellness program.

AMAN NEW YORK, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Located in Manhattan’s iconic Crown Building, Aman New York is just a stone’s throw from Central Park. Designed by Jean-Michel Gathy, the ultra-luxe hotel serves as an urban sanctuary while providing easy access to all points of interest in the city. A double-storey lobby welcomes guests to the 14th floor, where the sounds of midtown Manhattan melt away. Massive marble rain showers, oversized soaking tubs, and enchanting fireplaces mark the urban retreat’s 83 daydream-worthy suites, while signature restaurants Arva and Nama – available exclusively to guests and Aman Club Founders – pay homage to Italy’s rustic roots and Japan’s culinary traditions, respectively. The iconic property is also home to a fabulous three-storey spa boasting restorative treatments, functional biomarker lab diagnostics, and multidisciplinary wellness programs.

AMANBAGH, INDIA

Once used by the Maharajah of Alwar as his base for tiger-hunting expeditions, today Amanbagh’s lush compound shelters guests in a modern-day Mughal palace, carved out of local pink marble and sandstone, with scalloped arches and cupolas paying homage to India’s golden age. A sanctuary in the arid Aravalli hills, 90 minutes from frenetic Jaipur, the property is surrounded by mature palm, fruit and eucalyptus trees, which shade the emerald-green pool. Beyond the palatial Suites, spa and gardens, guests will discover welcoming villages, majestic forts and ruins, and the jungle of Sariska National Park, where tigers still roam free.

AMANPURI, THAILAND

This timeless retreat on Phuket’s west coast is in harmony with its idyllic setting. Ancient Ayutthayan architecture determines the design of its pavilions and villas, which overlook lush vegetation and the pristine Andaman Sea. Interspersed throughout a mature coconut plantation, the Thai-style villas are approached by elevated walkways, and all have a private outdoor sala for dining and relaxing, shaded by tropical flora. Sloping roof lines frame soothing, spacious interiors, furnished with Thai textiles, art and antiques. When it opened in 1988, Amanpuri was the first Aman to grace the planet and as such the resort has built a legendary reputation, attracting the rich and famous, including A-list celebrities and royalty.

AMAN NAI LERT BANGKOK

Amid the skyscrapers of central Bangkok, Thailand’s first urban Aman hotel and residences rises from the verdant sanctuary that is Nai Lert Park. Here, history and nature come together to tell a new Aman story, one entwined with the exceptional legacy of Thailand’s revered Nai Lert family. Amid the leafy embrace of Nai Lert Park, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok offers guests and residents a peerless experience of the Thai capital. Designed with wraparound views, open-air terraces and an innovative central atrium by Jean Michel Gathy of Denniston, the 36-storey building houses the 52-suite hotel, no more than 50 residences and unparalleled leisure and entertainment facilities. On the 19th floor, exclusive to Aman Club Founders, is an open-air terrace with skyline views, as well as two restaurants, an atmospheric Aman Lounge, and a Cigar Bar. In addition, Founders also have access to the hotel’s state-of-the-art wellness facilities.

AMANYARA, TURKS & CAICOS ISLANDS

Set on the beautiful island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands, Amanyara is a secluded haven embracing the best elements of the Caribbean. Bordering the pristine reefs of Northwest Point Marine National Park, acclaimed for some of the world’s best wall and reef diving, the ultraluxurious resort is blessed with a magnificent, semi-private, sugar-white beach. Contemporary in layout and design, Amanyara’s 38 timber-shingled pavilions enjoy extensive outdoor space and views of the ocean, tranquil ponds or coastal vegetation. All have entrance terraces, wooden sundecks and king-size beds. There are also 20 Amanyara villas with three distinct outlooks, each on over half a hectare (1.5 acres) and serviced by a chef and a host. The resort’s wellness facilities offer an array of rejuvenating treatments and holistic programs.

AMAN TOKYO, JAPAN

Occupying the top six floors of the Otemachi Tower, Aman Tokyo is an urban sanctuary high above the atmospheric whirl of tradition and modernity that epitomises Tokyo. The hotel draws its design inspiration from traditional Japanese residential structures, with classic Japanese materials such as timber, Washi paper and stone blended to great effect with modern technology and luxurious fabrics. The 84 rooms and suites, all with unique layouts, enjoy magnificent city views and every contemporary convenience. Each room has a large ‘furo’, a deep soaking tub intrinsic to the Japanese ritual of bathing. There is also a continuous reference to nature, from the hotel’s inner garden in the phenomenal lobby, to the fabrics and art incorporated into the design.

AMANGIRI, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Overlooking starkly beautiful desert scenery and the Southwest’s iconic flat-topped mesa rock formations, Amangiri (meaning ‘peaceful mountain’) is located in the USA’s Grand Circle region. Five national parks, numerous national monuments and the Navajo Nation Reservation, the largest Native American reservation in the United States, surround the resort, which is also managed by Aman. Draped around a central swimming pool with spectacular view, the hotel’s minimalist decor and surrounding raw landscape of immense power have enormous Instagram potential to wow your friends and inspire your followers. Amangiri’s 34 suites are situated in two elegant wings, which sweep from each side of the resort’s main pavilion. All suites offer private terraces, fireplaces, king-size beds and private courtyard entrances, with some suites having their own pool. Amangiri also features a high-end ‘glamping’ site – called Camp Sarika – which is linked to the main resort.
