This summer, Óscar Molina’s La Gaia celebrates its Michelin star with two fresh-tasting menus. It will also be joined by two new restaurants, Zuma and ASAL, and a new late-night venue, Club Chinois, within the Ibiza Gran Hotel.
Zuma
Island Hospitality’s award-winning contemporary Japanese dining concept, Zuma incorporates the informal izakaya-style. Zuma will be situated on Ibiza Gran Hotel’s sun-drenched terrace, with incredible views over the island’s top marina and landmark Old Town.
The brand’s signature favourites, Spicy Beef Tenderloin with Sesame; Black Cod marinated in Miso; Tiger Prawns with Yuzu; and Grilled Seabass with Chilli and Ginger, will feature on the menu, alongside contemporary cocktails and premium sakes, complementing the dishes’ Japanese flavours. And a resident DJ will provide late-night tunes in the restaurant’s bar area. Creator and Co-founder, Rainer Becker said of the launch:
“We are delighted to bring Zuma to Ibiza for the first time, in partnership with Island Hospitality. This year’s pop up is incredibly exciting for us all. We are proud to be sitting alongside Ibiza Gran Hotel as we share the same values of unquestionable quality and attention to detail.”
ASAL
Framed by natural light and organic materials and taking the form of a white cave flanked by Gaudian shapes that resemble the neighbouring reef, ASAL has been designed by the renowned architect and interior designer, David Alayeto. Its three spaces have a Pitiusan panorama and comprise the Garden Terrace, the Chef’s Saloon and the DJ Lounge with its cocktail bar. Chef Mario Sandoval – who holds two stars Michelin, a Michelin green star, and Tres Soles Repsol – is at the helm, focusing on Spanish flavours and produce.
Club Chinois
The team behind London’s Park Chinois are recreating their signature grand Asian flair, that’s inspired by the decadent yet iniquitous jazz clubs of 1930s Shanghai. Combining old-world hospitality and world-class contemporary entertainment it’ll span the 3,000sqm, with interiors by the award-winning Parisian Design Studio, Laleh Assefi. Guests can expect the Chinoiserie elegance that replicates an era of grace and bygone charm. Vibrant, sensorial and just a little hedonistic in style, Club Chinois will host international talents, such as DJs, star headline performers and artists providing a high-quality immersive experience.
Tanit and Posidonia
The hotel’s flagship restaurant, La Gaia, will also see a new launch, in the form of a gastronomy series celebrating Executive Chef Óscar Molina’s first MICHELIN star. As the first and only hotel on the island to achieve such an accolade. There will be two tasting menus, Tanit and 14-course Posidonia, which includes a three-dish series dedicated to the island’s traditional matançes festival, in which every part of the family pig is turned into a lavish feast.
