Introducing Rosé Lumière at Selfridges

Showcasing the world’s most iconic rosé wines, Selfridges is launching the new Rosé Lumière in London. The bar and retail space takes on a new life as a traditional and romantic French cinema house, with the portfolios of Veuve Clicquot, Moët & Chandon, Ruinart and Château d’Esclans up in lights all under one roof for the first time.

Exploring the history of rosé

Guests will have the opportunity to experience different and unique rosé expressions while learning about the varying styles of everything from Vintage Rosé to Rosé Impérial and Côtes de Provence Rosé and Ice Rosé, as well as the prolific histories of each Maison. Champagne tasting experiences, wine tasting flights and cocktail masterclasses with mixologists will all be available. And it’s arrived just in time for Valentine’s celebrations.

Selfridges has always sought to do things a little differently. Proving itself much more than simply a shop, with a spirit of imagination, curiosity and creativity at its heart, the venue offers a shopping experience that promises to surprise, amaze and amuse its customers by delivering extraordinary experiences like Rosé Lumière.

A cinematic experience

On arrival, guests will be shown to a seat at the art deco style bar or the specially curated 6-seater booth. In keeping with the theme, pink popcorn will be served, as audiences are regaled with the stories of these veteran wine brands. Neon signs and classic cinema style trailer hoardings highlight each rosé wine as film titles educate and excite guests, providing plenty of inspiration for further Rosé adventures in the form of flights, glasses or bottles to share.

Foyer displays pay homage to the brands, with gift boxes, bottles and magnums each presented with film-inspired headliner storytelling. And at the Rosé counter, guests will have the opportunity to star in their own ‘movie’ (a choice of four limited-edition film posters can be digitally personalised). Exclusive art prints can accompany bottle purchases with each poster depicting a different Maison and its home region it’s from.

Meet Madame Clicquot

Madame Clicquot will elucidate on the heritage of  Veuve Clicquot, the Maison responsible for the world’s first known blended Rosé Champagne in 1818. Guests can try Moët & Chandon’s Ice Impérial Rosé, the first and only champagne especially created specifically to be served on ice. Ruinart Rosé – the champagne house that introduced the world to the very first rosé champagne in 1764 – will also be featured, alongside Chateau d’Esclans (the home of the world-famous Whispering Angel now in its sixteenth vintage).

The venue will be open daily from 7th February through to June 2022, with reservations available and walk-ins welcome.
